» About The President:
Chris
Ryall brings a wealth of tourism marketing and communications
experience. His business travels have taken him throughout
Canada, United States, Mexico, Caribbean, Latin America, Europe,
South Pacific, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
Chris began his career as a journalist following graduation
majoring in Radio & TV Broadcasting. He gradually moved
into the travel industry by producing, writing and directing
a weekly television travel show and freelance writing for
publications in Canada.
He has worked for a number of different tourist boards including the
Australian Tourist Commission and the Macau Tourist Information Bureau.
In 1993, Chris joined a tourism marketing company as Director
of Communications and handled marketing and public relations
for various tourism accounts including the United States Travel
and Tourism Administration and various US state tourist boards.
In 1996, TME was born after many years working in all aspects
of the tourism industry and a variety of clients. TME has
represented clients in all sectors: local, provincial/state
and federal tourism organizations; wholesalers and tour operators;
travel agency consortia; airlines; hotels and resorts; online
travel media and technology related companies.
Chris and his staff go the extra mile for clients -- in fact
26.2 miles. In a promotion with his Arizona Office of Tourism
client, Chris volunteered to run his first marathon as part
of a travel agent promotion. Chris demands quality work of
himself and his staff -- not just to meet client's expectations
but exceed them! The promotion was a success and won a prestigious Governor's Award for Innovative Promotion.
Chris has sat on many boards including the Discover America Committee - Canada and was Vice-President for the Association
of National Tourist Office Representatives - Canada (ANTOR). He is
a current member of the Travel Media Association of Canada (TMAC)
and the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW).
Chris continues to freelance as a writer. He currently writes a twice monthly column, "The Ryall Report," for the national travel trade TravelIndustryToday.com as well as a monthly spa/wellness column, "The Spa Scene" in the same publication. Chris also freelances for in-flight magazines, Yahoo! Travel, The Toronto Star and various other publications. He is called upon by the media to speak about travel trends, Canadian travel market characteristics, family travel and spas. He is married to a Television Network Executive and has two children.
